Speaking As a Parent

This is so absurdly irritating it must somehow be good.

More pop tarts:
“Orgasms are the biggest obstacles for women. Sex should be fun, beautiful and colourful but women get the short end of the stick. We’re just receivers. We can’t talk about sex, we can’t sing about sex.”
I forgive Lady Gaga. She's, like, 20 or something.

That you would post this a mere two hours after "Baby, do what you want - just know what you're doing" makes me fear for your sanity.

Even though you're "speaking as a parent", it's still possible that Ke$ha is in fact, just terrible. With no redeeming qualities whatsoever. She should get the hell offa yer lawn. &c.

Who woulda thunk that you and Ezra Klein would be blogging in parallel?

I think there's something in the serendipitous synergy here to be considered...

Jeez, I don't think the lyrics by themselves are that irritating...considered alone they're like AC/DC for mall rats: all cheap swagger.

It's the whole package: annoying music and annoying delivery.

Woohoo! Finally a bar set low enough even I can get over it!

The trouble with low-set bars is all the drunken midgets.

I heard some NPR interview with this "artist" and she had super-high SAT's and the like, so it seemed to me pretty clear that she was smart enough to figure out how the pretty blond young party girl singer hook worked to make a zillion dollars.
